FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to application of multiple coating films on top of each other on base surface of body or other component of vehicle in order to improve its protection and appearance. Multilayer coating film contains a colored base layer directly or indirectly formed on the surface of the coating application object, and a layer comprising a glossy material layered onto the colored base layer and containing a flaky glossy material and a dye. Glossy layer material in a dye-free condition is set in a XYZ colorimetric system of 50 or more and 850 or less for Y (10°) and value equal to k × Y (10°), for Y (20°), where k is in interval 0.2 ≤ k ≤ 0.6 and is determined based on Y (10°), where Y (10°) denotes the reflected light amount Y, measured at the light reception angle of 10°. Content of the dye in the glossy material-containing layer is determined based on the value of k. Reflecting power R (%) of the surface of the colored base layer is determined based on the content of the dye in the glossy material-containing layer and Y (10°).
EFFECT: invention improves the brightness variation properties when changing the viewing angle and enhancing the metal effect of the metal coating.
