FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of assessing adhesion of bitumen with mineral materials, in which the action of boiling / hot distilled water is used as tear-off force. Method of assessing adhesion of bitumen with mineral materials includes making plates from mineral material, surface cleaning, drying, photographing, application of bitumen, thermostating plates with bitumen, photographing, boiling in distilled water, photographing, processing and analysis of images in computer programs and calculation of adhesion coefficient. Length and width of the plate are selected so that the area of the rectangle into which any mineral grains can be placed on the surface of the plate is not more than 0.23 % of the surface area of the plate whereat bitumen is to be applied. Maximum height of profile of surface roughness of plate is within basic length of not more than 40.0 mcm. Coefficient of adhesion is calculated by formula: where Dt is integral image density of plate after test, con. units, D0 is integral image density of plate before application of bitumen, con. units, D – integrated optical density of plate completely coated with bitumen after thermostating, con. units.
EFFECT: invention improves accuracy and objectivity of evaluation of bitumen adhesion with mineral materials.
