FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and endocrinology, and aims at early diagnosis of an active phase of endocrine ophthalmopathy (EOP). For early diagnosis of EOP activity, the patients are examined for blood serum of thyroid stimulating antibodies (TSAbs), interleukin 17 (IL-17), BB-isoforms of platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF-BB) and matrix metalloproteinase 13 (MMP-13) with using enzyme immunoassay. Values of discriminant functions f1 and f2 by formulas: f1=-2.68+0.11×x1+0.19×x2+0.002×x3+0.06×x4; f2=-26.67+0.74×x1+0.46×x2+0.007×x3+0.19×x4, where numerical values are constant and regression coefficients, x1 – level TSAbs, x2 – level of IL-17, x3 – PDGF-BB level, x4 is level of MMP-13. At value f1<f2 active phase of EOP is diagnosed, and if f1>f2 inactive EOP.

EFFECT: using the invention enables early diagnosis of an active EOP phase when the disease signs have not yet reached a clinical manifestation, and to determine a further individual therapeutic approach.
