FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of measuring frequencies of transverse incoherent oscillations of charged particles accelerated in a synchrocyclotron and is intended for measuring frequencies of transverse incoherent oscillations of charged particles for which frequency and amplitude parameters of their oscillations are interconnected. Method is based on resonance action on beam in its circulation mode by external electric fields in vertical and horizontal directions. Frequency of transverse incoherent oscillations is measured in the mode of particles circulation by successive installation and fixation of electric field frequencies and measurement of the number of those particles, in which resonance increase of oscillation amplitudes and their falling on electrodes coincide with frequency of these fields, and interval between next measurements of frequencies of spectrum is equal to period of accelerating cycle of synchrocyclotron.

EFFECT: possibility of experimental measurement of the spectrum of frequencies of transverse oscillations of protons in a beam while providing accuracy of measurements of order of 10-3.
