SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of harmful insects control and can be used for catching adult animals and their larvas. Device for insect catching includes a body, suction and discharge air ducts, an electric motor, a ventilation blade, an accumulator and a sublimation chamber. Container with carbon dioxide is installed in the sublimation chamber. When implementing the method of insects catching their bodies are cooled with an air mixture. Air mixture is obtained in sublimation chamber by mixing atmospheric air with carbon dioxide gas. Carbon dioxide gas is obtained during the subliming reaction of carbon dioxide.

EFFECT: achieving high efficiency of insect catching in rooms and on open spaces at any ambient temperature.
