FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of high-temperature composite materials having high oxidation resistance, and can be used in heat-loaded assemblies of rocket-space and aviation equipment, in automobile- and tractor-building for manufacturing of exhaust gases purification assemblies, sliding bearings and end seals. Method of producing composite material having a porous fibrous carbide-silicon framework, includes depositing silicon carbide onto said carcass from gaseous phase of methylsilane CH3SiH3 at temperature of 550–700 °C and pressure of 50–130 Pa with periodic pumping of reactor for 1–60 s with reduction of pressure up to 0.1 Pa.

EFFECT: higher rate of deposition of silicon carbide from methylsilane and reduced soot formation.
