SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lane display device and method. Method implemented by the lane display device includes steps for obtaining information on traffic indicating a specific section for each lane. Specific section is displayed on the lane of motion along which the vehicle is moving. Displaying a transition area indicating transition relative to said specific section, adjacent to at least one of the starting point or end point of a particular section. Transition area pattern changes more in direction of at least one of initial point or end point.
EFFECT: lane display is provided to assist the driver in changing the lane.
