FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of composite sorbents for water treatment and purification of waste water of various origin. Disclosed is a method of producing a composite sorbent for extracting heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions. Chitosan solution in 1 % acetic acid is mixed with gelatin and dispersion of reinforcing material containing silicon dioxide in distilled water. Epichlorohydrin is added gradually as a cross-linking agent and sodium tripolyphosphate solution is added drop-by-drop into the prepared mixture. Formed microspheres are held in a solution of sodium tripolyphosphate, separated from the dispersion medium and washed with distilled water. Holding of microspheres in solution of sodium tripolyphosphate is carried out at ultrasonic action with working frequency of 35 kHz at room temperature during 20–40 minutes.
EFFECT: reduced time of sorbent production and increased sorption capacity relative to ions of heavy metals.
