FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing composite sorbent for extraction of heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions is proposed consisting in mixing chitosan solution in 1% acetic acid and dispersion of reinforcing material in distilled water, intensive mixing and gradual adding epichlorohydrin as crosslinking agent and stirring it until complete inclusion into the reaction mixture followed by drip introducing the prepared mixture into aqueous solution of sodium tripolyphosphate with a concentration of 0.05 M at microwave irradiation with power of 300 W, frequency of 2.45 GHz and temperature of 25-40°C for 15-25 min followed by their separating from dispersion medium and thorough flushing with distilled water from unreacted sodium tripolyphosphate. Carbon nanotubes “Taunit – M” are used as reinforcing dispersed material. Gelatin solution is additionally introduced in chitosan solution at weight ratio of gelatin:chitosan is 1:5-1:3. Weight ratio of reinforcing dispersed material and mixture of chitosan and gelatin is 1:10-1:2. Chitosan solution mixing in 1% acetic acid is carried out for 20-30 min followed by ultrasound treating for 10-20 min and swelling at rest without mixing for 30-40 min.
EFFECT: reducing swelling time of chitosan in 1% acetic acid solution and increasing sorption capacity of sorbent relatively to heavy metal ions.
