FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a modified sorbent for extracting Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) ions from aqueous solutions, consisting in producing a solution of chitosan in 1% acetic acid, stirring rapidly, gradually adding epichlorohydrin as a crosslinking agent and mixing, followed by drop introduction of the resulting mixture into an aqueous alkaline solution, maintaining the formed granules therein and thoroughly washing with distilled water to a neutral pH, wherein the homogenisation of the chitosan gel is executed by ultrasonic treatment for 20 to 40 min, drip introduction of the resulting gel of crosslinked chitosan is executed into an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide at a concentration of 1 M, wherein the formed granules are sustained for 20 to 50 min, followed by washing with distilled water, and the modification of the chitosan granules is executed in an aqueous solution containing 2-ethylimidazole and nickel chloride at a molar ratio 2-ethylimidazole/Ni2+ of 2:1 to 8:1.
