FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used to control a drive based on high-voltage high-power motors. Star-like multiphase frequency-variable drive system with conversion of high voltage to low comprises phase-shifting transformer, rectifying circuits, inverter circuits, multiphase motor and control circuit connected with phase-shifting transformer, rectifying circuits, inverter circuits and multiphase motor. Primary windings of phase-shifting transformer are connected to alternating current source, and secondary windings of phase-shifting transformer are connected to rectifying circuits. Number of secondary windings is equal to the number of rectifying circuits, one secondary winding is connected to one rectifying circuit. All rectifying circuits have a common grounding line to form a DC source with a common grounding line. Output ends of the rectifying circuits are connected to the inverter circuits.

EFFECT: providing high values of voltage and current, simplification, reduction of insulation requirements, improvement of the heat dissipation ability of the engine and increase of specific power.
