SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to auxiliary devices of braking systems. Method of controlling different power sources of main and reserve air supply of a vehicle consists in the following. Main air supply is performed through the external main power supply source, and backup air supply is performed through the on-board, less powerful backup power supply source. Switching is performed between both different power sources depending on the corresponding operating mode of the vehicle. Backup air supply system is disconnected by disconnection of electric motor from backup power supply after pressure in reserve air reservoir reaches minimum value sufficient for vehicle start-up and / or when main power supply is connected. Also disclosed is a device for controlling different power sources of main and reserve air supply of a vehicle.

EFFECT: technical result consists in providing switching from backup to main air supply while fixing sufficient amount of backup air.
