FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: compressed air supply unit contains the compressor, the storage battery and the facilities to produce the compressed air for additional auxiliary air supply to operate the air actuator as the part of the pantograph collector servo drive. The facilities to produce the compressed air contain the electric frequency converter with the low-speed electric motor with the supplied power-driven from the vehicle storage battery. The bypass is connected to the air pipeline related to the main air compressor to remove the additional air from it for the auxilliary actuator air supply. The operation method of the compressed air supply device, in which the main compressor of the rail vehicle, equipped with the electric motor, receives the driven electric power for auxiliary air supply through the electric frequency converter with small revolutions from the storage battery.
EFFECT: simplification of the device design.
