FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biotechnology, medicine and immunology, particularly to an antibody which binds a human complement component C3 and suppresses activation of a complement system on an alternative pathway, and DNA molecules encoding a light and heavy chain thereof. Humanised antibody to the conformal epitope of the human complement component C3 comprises a light chain variable region according to Seq ID No: 3 and a heavy chain variable region according to Seq ID No: 4. Humanised monoclonal antibody does not bind to native C3, in which the thioether bond is found inside the molecule, and does not block complement activation along the classical pathway. Obtained monoclonal antibody has 4-fold higher inhibitory activity as compared to the previously developed monoclonal antibody hC34.

EFFECT: declared antibody can be used for creation of medicinal preparations blocking an alternative way of complement system activation.
