FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing and finishing of strip rolled stock, in particular, tape intended for packing of rolled metal and sheets in packs. To achieve technical result, cold-rolled tape with content of 0.28–0.50 wt% of carbon is subjected to treatment, wherein tape is heated at rate of 4.5–8.0 °C/s to temperature of 930–950 °C is held in molten lead for 20–50 s at temperature 460–500 °C, painting the surface and drying, and then coating the tape with wax in a water-wax emulsion containing 20 % paraffin, followed by cooling with air having temperature of 60–70 °C.
EFFECT: providing the required level of physical and mechanical properties in a packing tape in a wide range of thicknesses from 0,45 to 1,30 mm under conditions of a high-efficiency unit.
