FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine cooling control system. Disclosed are methods and systems for controlling gate valves based on temperature of engine coolant and difference in aerodynamic resistance between positions of gate valves. According to one example, grid gates can be shifted to position closer to first, smaller opening at high difference of aerodynamic resistance between first and second positions. In other examples, grid dampers can be shifted to position closer to second, larger, opening at small difference of aerodynamic resistance between first and second positions.
EFFECT: invention provides engine operation at lower temperatures.
