FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and systems for diagnostics of an engine cooling system. Method of diagnostics of a vehicle cooling system involves adjusting the state of one or more valves of the cooling system to keep the first amount of the coolant in the first loop with circulation of the second amount of the coolant in a thermostat in the second loop. Also indicated is deterioration of the thermostat operation basing on a difference between a temperature of the cooling agent and the threshold temperature based on the state of one or more valves of the cooling system.
EFFECT: provided is higher efficiency of diagnostics of the engine cooling system.
