FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: methods and systems for diagnosing each of a plurality of engine cooling system components including various valves and baffle plates of the radiator grille are proposed. Each valve can be individually closed and opened for a specified period of time, and corresponding changes in the coolant temperature can be monitored. If all components are functioning, various valves can be adjusted to hold the coolant in the engine and accelerate the engine warm-up during a cold start.
EFFECT: diagnosis of the engine cooling system.
