SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and can be used in producing initial charge for growing monocrystals for laser equipment. Method of producing bismuth germanate Bi2Ge3O9 includes mechanical mixing of initial powders of bismuth oxide Bi2O3 and germanium GeO2 oxide in molar ratio of 1:3. Mixture is heated to 1200 ± 20 °C is held until transition of melt into a liquid state, glass is obtained and annealed at 940 ± 20 °C.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a pure end product.
