FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of electric arc welding of sheet metal structures, tanks and pipelines for various purposes, in particular ship hulls, oil and gas pipelines. Carry out arc welding in several passes by one-sided or two-sided method with direct current of direct polarity using metal-chemical additive and filler wire as welding materials. Pre-control the silicon content in the steel of the parts to be welded and in the welding material and select them from the condition of obtaining the difference in silicon content ΔSi ≤ 0.30 %. Conduct trial welding of samples with the control of the chemical composition of the weld. When the above-mentioned difference in silicon is 0.30 % between the material of any of the parts and the weld, their selection for the silicon content is adjusted. Gaskets from materials of an intermediate composition over silicon can be used, thus breaking the unacceptable weld joint into several successive welded joints arranged in series.

EFFECT: invention allows to reduce the values of thermoelectromotive forces of the neighboring local areas of the weld in contact with electrically conductive fluids, and to increase the resistance of welded joints of metal structures to electrochemical corrosion.
