FIELD: rocket equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of applying heat-insulating coating from composite materials used for protection of bodies of rocket engines operating on solid fuel. Fluoroplastic film is wound on the body of the rocket engine, which has passed a number of preparatory operations for gluing operations, after which a layer of glass fiber reinforced plastic of the required thickness is applied on its cylindrical part by circumferential winding. Applied layer of fiberglass is mechanically treated to the required size, and the resulting ring is shifted towards the bottom along the surface of the engine housing and glued to the latter. Then, bottom of complex configuration molded from fiberglass is put on engine housing and glued to bottom and ring. After that, circumferential fiberglass winding of the required thickness is performed on the cylindrical part of the body with subsequent heat treatment.
EFFECT: invention allows improving reliability of thermal protection of solid fuel rocket engine body.
