FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to traumatology and orthopaedics, and can be used in planning surgical management of transverse-planar deformation. Method for determining rotation of the first metatarsal bone with transverse platypodia consists in X-ray imaging in a straight projection, determining an angle formed by intersection of the axial line of the first metatarsal bone on the X-ray image of the anterior foot in straight projection with a line obtained by connecting two points, wherein the first point is located in the centre of the lateral sesamoid bone, the second point is in the centre of the base of the first metatarsal bone, the rotation angle is calculated by subtraction from the value of the obtained angle of eight degrees.
EFFECT: using the invention makes it possible to simplify detection of a degree of rotation of the first metatarsal bone.
