FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: computer-aided tomography of fore foot is performed at forward department of foot at the metatarsal-sesamoid joint. There are two straight lines drawn from the centre of a head of the first instep bone. One line passes through intrasesamoid crest, and another - through the centre of medial sesamoid bone. The angle formed between these lines shows the status of anterior transverse arch of the foot. If the angle exceeds 20°, a norm is stated; the angle 20° to 5° shows the 1st degree that is onset of arch destruction; 5° to -10° indicates the 2nd degree that is partial arch destruction, -10° to -25° is the 3rd degree, or progressive arch destruction; and -25° and lower is the 4th degree involving complete arch destruction.
EFFECT: simplified calculations and improved level of diagnostics, exact localisation of sesamoid bones in relation to the head of the first instep bone considering rotation thereof.
