SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a kit suitable for treating schizophrenia. Kit contains a therapeutically effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition and instructions for intramuscular injection of the composition. Composition contains (7-(4-(4-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)piperazin-1-yl)butoxy)2-oxo-3,4-dihydroquinoline-1(2H)-yl)methyldodecanoate (aripiprazole lauroxyl) in amount of 24–30 wt%, sorbitan laurate in amount of 0.3–0.4 wt%, polysorbate in amount of 0.1–0.3 wt% and a water-based carrier medium. Instructions show the intramuscular injection rate of said composition 0.3–1.0 ml/s. Also described is a method of treating schizophrenia using said composition and high injection rate.

EFFECT: interval of intramuscular injection rate of the composition according to the invention provides reducing number of unsuccessful injections due to clogging of the needle and reduced reaction of tissue and skin at the injection site.
