FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of marking objects and is intended for protection against counterfeit valuable objects, as well as for personal identification. Code mark contains a set of crystals which form diffraction signals when they are irradiated with an X-ray beam. Crystals are oriented such that during parallel transfer of their crystallographic directions to a common point they are located within a given solid angle, and points of intersection of said crystallographic directions with plane perpendicular to axis of said solid angle form elements of discrete image. For reading the code mark, a device is proposed, which includes an X-ray source, a convergent beam generating means, a two-coordinate detector and a radiation-protective screen transparent in the optical range with channels along the path of the incident and diffraction reflected radiation.
EFFECT: high reliability of storing data of the security mark, enabling concealed marking, as well as high reliability and speed of reading data.
