FIELD: cutting tools.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an actuating mechanism for adjusting the length of hair cutting, as well as to a cutting guide and an electric hair clipper containing such an actuator. Actuator comprises frame, actuating device, sliding link and connecting mechanism connecting actuator with sliding link. Movement of actuating device relative to frame causes movement of sliding link relative to frame by smaller distance. Connecting mechanism comprises a groove in the frame and a pin arranged to slide in the slot. Movement of the actuator relative to the frame causes movement of the pin within the slot, which results in movement of the sliding link relative to the frame. Connecting mechanism comprises track in actuator and track in sliding link. First end of the pin is located on the track in the actuating device, and the second end - on the track in the sliding link.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of adjustment of distance between comb and cutting element and prevention of spontaneous movement of comb in direction of cutting element.
