FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of waste water and can be used for cleaning urban wastes, effluents of food industry enterprises, as well as livestock and poultry farms with their subsequent discharge into water body. Method of removing phosphorus from waste water involves a step for physico-chemical purification of biologically treated waste water, in which biologically pure waste water is added with sodium hydroxide in an amount which increases pH to 10.5–11. To accelerate the crystallization process of the sparingly soluble phosphoric acid salt, air is supplied in amount of 0.5–0.6 m3/m3 waste water.
EFFECT: invention enables to reduce concentration of phosphorus, costs on purchased reagents, reduce amount of chemical residue and operational costs for its removal from the site of treatment facilities, as well as use the formed chemical residue as organomineral fertilizer.
