FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing L-BPA. Method includes the following steps: reaction of (S)-4-halogenphenylalanine of formula I with a protective group at amino group, a borating agent, a Grignard reagent and bis-(2-methylaminoethyl) ether to obtain a reaction mixture, where the reaction mixture contains (S)-4-borono-L-phenylalanine of formula II with a protective group at the amino group, wherein R1 is halogen, and in formula I, and in formula II R2 is a protecting group, and wherein the Grignard reagent is magnesium tert-butyl chloride;

separation of reaction mixture to obtain (S)-4-boron-L-phenylalanine with a protective group at amino group; and removing the protective group from the amino group (S)-4-borono-L-phenylalanine to obtain L-BPA, having a structure represented by formula III above. Also disclosed is a version of the method of producing L-BPA.

EFFECT: invention simplifies the method and enables to obtain L-BPA with high chemical purity and high optical purity.
