FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrophysical and electrochemical methods of machining parts, in particular, to electroerosive doping with graphite electrode and nitriding of the surfaces of steel parts. Method of hardening the surfaces of heat-treated steel parts includes electroerosive doping with graphite electrode in at least two stages with a decrease in the discharge energy at each subsequent stage and ion nitriding for a time sufficient to saturate the metal with nitrogen to the depth of the heat-affected zone. Electroerosive doping with graphite electrode is combined with ion nitriding in at least two stages, in this case, nitrogen is introduced into the area of electroerosive doping and in the first stage, the said doping is carried out with a discharge energy of 0.42 J and with a productivity of 0.1–2.0 cm2/min, and at the second stage – with a discharge energy of 0.1 J and with a productivity of 0.1–1.0 cm2/min.
EFFECT: hardening of steel parts surfaces is provided.
