FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to laboratory research methods, and aims at teaching students to the glucose-oxidase method of quantitative determination of urine glucose using mixtures which imitate normal and pathological human urine. For this purpose, urine-simulating sodium phosphate buffer (pH 6.0–7.0), which is tinted with 1 % titanium yellow to a color similar to that of normal urine, without or with the addition of glucose powder (dextrose) to 0.5–2.0 % (28–112 mmol/l) of the volume of the urine-simulating mixture, respectively. Results of the glucose oxidase method are used to establish the presence or absence of glucosuria in the potential patient.
EFFECT: use of invention provides 100 % accuracy of determining the glucose level in the urine simulator, enables to repeatedly and independently execute the training techniques by their safety, simplicity, reproducibility, uniqueness of interpretation, low cost for mastering and fixing abilities and skills for quantitative determination of glucose in urine by glucose oxidase method.
