FIELD: medicine; therapy; endocrinology; nephrology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for early diagnostics of tubular kidney dysfunction in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypercholesterolemia receiving lipid-lowering therapy with simvastatin. The level of activity of organ-specific enzymes: neutral alpha-glucosidase, L-alanine aminopeptidase and the concentration of cystatin C in the urine are determined before and 3 months after the start of taking simvastatin. If an increase in the level of all three indicators is detected after treatment with simvastatin, tubular kidney dysfunction is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides the ability to identify the risk of occurrence or progression of tubular kidney dysfunction in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus when taking simvastatin by determining the level of activity of organ-specific enzymes: neutral alpha-glucosidase, L-alanine aminopeptidase and the concentration of cystatin C in the urine, which reveals the development of a side effect of taking statins in the form of emerging or worsening tubulopathy in persons with type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypercholesterolemia.
