FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: voltage control device comprises a transformer, one of windings of which comprises, in each phase, main and control parts connected in series, switching nodes, each of which contains thyristor switch and connected to corresponding tap of control part with coils, additional thyristor switch. Switching units are combined into two groups so that the first group is formed of switching nodes of odd taps connected to the beginning of an additional thyristor switch, and the second group is formed of switching nodes of even taps. End of additional thyristor switch is connected to switching nodes of even taps, forming common point, which is connected to common points of switching nodes of other phases, and uncontrolled reactor is connected to additional thyristor switch connected to switching nodes of odd taps.

EFFECT: design of a device having high reliability and relative simplicity of design owing to minimization of the number of thyristor switch with certain connection of units and elements of the device to each other, provision of smooth voltage control and possibility of multistage deep voltage control.
