FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to tracing motion caused by shear waves, specifically to use of correlation when tracking movement. Ultrasonic device for motion estimation comprises image acquisition circuit, made with possibility to emit through acoustic windows, transversely spaced in the shear wave propagation direction of the corresponding plurality of ultrasonic pulses to track the axial motion caused by the wave, wherein the wave is caused by an axially directed thrust, and a motion tracking circuit configured to use autocorrelation on the basis of motion to estimate the axial offset and use the estimate as the initial point for cross-correlation to modify the estimate so as to output a modified offset. Ultrasonic method for estimating motion comprises emitting a plurality of ultrasonic pulses, using autocorrelation to estimate the axial offset, and using the estimate as the initial point in cross-correlation to modify the estimate. Computer-readable data medium for ultrasonic motion estimation contains a program having instructions executed by a processor for realizing the method.
EFFECT: use of the group of inventions makes it possible to increase accuracy of displacement estimation of structures of interest and considerably accelerate calculations.
