SUBSTANCE: hybrid elastography method includes the following steps: applying continuous low frequency vibration and generating, using an ultrasonic transducer in contact with a viscoelastic medium, a first series of ultrasonic data acquisition signals; applying a low frequency pulse and generating, using an ultrasonic transducer, a second series of ultrasonic data acquisition signals; moreover, the continuous vibration applied by the first vibrator stops before the application of the low frequency pulse. The hybrid elastography probe includes: a first vibrator configured to apply continuous low frequency vibration to the viscoelastic medium, wherein the continuous low frequency vibration generates an elastic wave within the viscoelastic medium; a second vibrator configured to apply to the viscoelastic medium a low-frequency pulse that generates a non-stationary shear wave inside the viscoelastic medium; an ultrasonic transducer configured to emit: a first series of ultrasonic data acquisition signals; a second series of ultrasonic data acquisition signals; wherein said probe is further configured to terminate the application of continuous vibration prior to application of the low frequency pulse. The hybrid elastography device includes: a hybrid elastography probe; a central unit connected to the probe and including a calculation means for processing reflected ultrasonic signals, a display means, and a control and/or input means.
EFFECT: using this group of inventions will provide optimal determination of the location of the tissue.
