FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology of measurement of ultrasound attenuation and, in particular, to the use of harmonic elastography for determination of ultrasound attenuation in a medium having an ultrasound signal as a result of ultrasound radiation. A method for measurement of a parameter of ultrasound attenuation by harmonic elastography is proposed, including a stage of application, using a vibrator contained in a probe, in contact with a viscoelastic medium, of continuous low-frequency vibration, wherein continuous low-frequency vibration creates an elastic wave within the viscoelastic medium and generation (CW), during distribution of the elastic wave, using an ultrasound converter in contact with the viscoelastic medium, of a sequence of ultrasound samples, wherein the sequence of ultrasound samples includes groups of ultrasound samples, wherein groups of ultrasound samples are generated with a repetition frequency (LPRF), wherein each group of ultrasound samples includes at least one sample, wherein the parameter of ultrasound attenuation is measured from ultrasound samples.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides measurement of a parameter of ultrasound attenuation by harmonic elastography.
