FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to experimental medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and concerns prevention of proliferative vitrioretinopathy, which develops as a result of proliferation of retinal glial cells and leads to formation of a choreoretinal scar. Method consists in fact that 0.02 ml of 0.5 % aqueous solution of D-asparagine is introduced intravitreally once into animal on 1st–6th day of the onset of the disease.
EFFECT: invention allows to considerably reduce the risk of developing proliferative vitrioretinopathy and improve retinal integrity.
