FIELD: power engineering; nuclear physics and equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering and can be used in radiochemical industry for packing solid radioactive wastes into barrels prior to their utilization or burial. Proposed press comprises bed top and bottom crossbars connected by columns. On the columns there is a movable crossbar with a central through hole. On upper crossbar there is main cylinder, plunger of which is fixed on movable crossbar. From below to the movable crossbar there is attached a press-rod. There is a cage and a press washer made removable with the possibility of their replacement. Cage is installed in the central through hole of the movable crossbar and is pressed by the ring fixed from below on the movable crossbar. Press washer is fixed on the press-rod. Press is equipped with a casing of transparent polycarbonate and nozzles for discharge of dust.
EFFECT: as a result, it is possible to readjust the press for compacting barrels of different sizes and to increase service life of hydraulic cylinders.
