FIELD: nuclear power engineering; burial of radioactive waste. SUBSTANCE: press has frame, bed with top and bottom plates, and swivel journals, ram with spring washer, and die. Power drive of press has main hydraulic cylinder with plunger, reverse-travel hydraulic cylinder accommodating piston, die driving hydraulic cylinder. Transportation facility has arrangement for loading radioactive waste containers and removing compressed packs. Bed is built of solid tube. Bottom plate of bed is built integral with tube in the form of bottom with central bore to receive changeable plug. Top plate functions as detachable end cap. Reverse-travel hydraulic cylinder of ram is provided with hollow rod to communicate with pump unit. Hollow rod is coaxially fixed on end cap and piston. Hollow of reverse-travel hydraulic cylinder of ram is made in plunger body of main hydraulic cylinder and ram and communicates with their hollows and with rod hollow. Frame mounts heightwise adjustable support. Crosspiece with brackets is secured in bottom part of die. Crosspiece is linked with curtains made in the form of strips to seal working region of press.
