FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technical field of producing dimethyl oxalate from synthesis gas and to a method of recycling methanol during synthesis of dimethyl oxalate from synthesis gas. Method includes steps i) feeding a crude methanol stream containing methyl nitrite, methyl formate and dimethylcarbonate, to a first separation column and producing methyl nitrite in an upper portion of a first separation column and a crude methanol stream containing methyl formate and dimethylcarbonate in a lower portion thereof; ii) feeding a crude methanol stream containing methyl formate and dimethyl carbonate to a second separation column and obtaining methyl formate in an upper portion of a second separation column and a crude methanol stream containing dimethyl carbonate in a lower portion thereof; and iii) feeding a crude stream of methanol containing dimethyl carbonate into an apparatus for separating dimethylcarbonate and methanol and after separation obtainment dimethylcarbonate and a stream of methanol to be reused.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the amount of methyl formate accumulating in the system, thereby reducing corrosion of pipelines and equipment, improving purity of methanol, thereby reducing its circulating volume, id est reduced power consumption.
