SUBSTANCE: invention refers to biotechnology and veterinary virology. Disclosed is a method for detecting the genome of the rotavirus type A agent in agricultural animals. RNA is isolated from biological material from infected animals by a sorption method. That is followed by synthesising cDNA on an RNA matrix by single-step staging with addition of an internal positive control of a reverse transcription multiplex reaction and a polymerase chain reaction with 45 amplification cycles with real-time detection using specific oligonucleotide primers, a fluorescently-labelled probe, and control samples. Then, accumulation of fluorescent signal is measured in channels of corresponding fluorescent dyes and results are interpreted on the basis of presence/absence of intersection of fluorescence curve with threshold line (Threshold). For the internal control sample, a bacteriophage MS2 suspension is used, and for the positive control sample - a mixture of recombinant plasmid DNA containing a RVA virus genome fragment and a fragment of the bacteriophage MS2 genome.

EFFECT: invention enables reliable diagnosis of rotavirus infection of type A in animals.
