FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry. Described is a method for detecting a genome of parainfluenza virus of type 3 in cattle, involving extraction of RNA from biological material by a sorption method, synthesis of cDNA on an RNA matrix by single-step formulation with addition of internal and positive control samples of the multiplex reverse transcription reaction and polymerase chain reaction with 45 amplification cycles with real-time detection using oligonucleotide primers specific for the viral pathogen region of the fluorescent labelled probe and control samples. Fragment of genome of type parainfluenza virus exciter has the following nucleotide sequences: BPIF 5'-TCGACATCATTGAATTCATAC-3' - forward primer; BPIR 5'-TCAAGTTGGTAGATTGTCGTGC-3' - reverse primer; BPI-z 5'-JOE-TGCCGTGTTCTCTTGGGAGTCG-BHQ1 - probe.
EFFECT: invention extends the range of methods for detecting genome of parainfluenza virus 3 in cattle.
