SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to brewing unit (1) for preparation of a beverage, in particular for devices for preparation of beverages from capsules, which contain: -body (8); -a female capsule assembly comprising a first female part (2) connected to the body, and a second female part (3) configured to move relative to the first female part in a longitudinal direction, preferably in translation, between a position of the capsule insert in which two female parts are at a distance from each other, and a capsule envelopment position, in which the capsule is enclosed between the first and second female parts (2, 3); -assembly (32) of capsule insert, comprising a pair of cams (33, 34), intended to guide capsule (4) to intermediate position of insert and its retention in said position; -wherein cams (33, 34) are movable between a capsule retention position and a capsule release position; wherein from the capsule releasing position to the capsule retention position, cams (33, 34) are moved by the first drive device (47), and from the capsule holding position to the capsule release position by second actuator (52); and wherein first and second drive devices (47, 52) are located at a longitudinal distance from each other along the direction of longitudinal axis (I) for relative movement of two female parts (2, 3).
