FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic and medical chemistry, specifically to a method of producing – N-(4-sulphamoylphenyl)benzamidine, which can be used for synthesis of novel heterocyclic compounds and in medicine. Method of producing N-(4-sulphamoylphenyl)benzamidine is carried out by reacting substituted aryl amine with benzonitrile in the presence of an anhydrous aluminum chloride catalyst while heating, followed by extraction of the end product. Substituted aryl amine used is 4-aminobenzene sulphamide, the process is carried out in molar ratio of benzonitrile with 4-aminobenzene sulphamide and anhydrous aluminum chloride equal to 1:1:1. Catalyst is added in portions as homogeneity of mixture is achieved, heating is carried out at temperature of 160–180 °C for 30 minutes, and the finished product is separated by acid-base reprecipitation from aqueous solutions at pH=9–10, for which the reaction mass is poured in molten form into a solution of hydrochloric acid, filtered, the filtrate is poured into sodium hydroxide solution, the obtained product residue is filtered.
