SUBSTANCE: disclosed are computers for a vehicle. Computer (26) comprises a processor and memory. Computer (26) is configured to receive temperature sensor data. Using temperature sensor data, it is determined whether temperature is lower than threshold value. When the temperature is not lower than the threshold value, the first of the plurality of power sources (20, 22, 24) in vehicle battery (16) of vehicle (12) is isolated from starter (14) during the ignition event in vehicle (12). Feeding to starter (14) is supplied through another power supply source. Said first power supply comprises lithium-type cells.
