FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for sealing system with high degree of flexibility is intended for compaction of high-temperature furnace channels, in particular channel for electrode of electric furnace. Seal assembly for sealing the opening between the variable sealing surface and the fixed surface for use at temperatures, usually not suitable for elastic materials, including sealing element, having support edge, intended for attachment to fixed surface, and movable edge intended for contact with sealing surface, wherein sealing element is flexible and allows movable edge to move parallel and perpendicular to sealing surface; and a spring element located adjacent to the movable edge of the sealing element, wherein the spring element displaces the movable edge of the sealing element from the support edge.
EFFECT: invention allows sealer to adapt to wide range of operating conditions, which usually exist for furnace electrode compactor, reduce friction wear of the sealant, wherein the sealant is able to move along the vertical, which can considerably reduce wear caused by electrode adjustment.
