FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy, particularly, to electrolytic deposition of copper from sulfuric solutions with insoluble anodes. Method for electrowinning of copper from sulphate electrolytes involves creation of protective layer of foam on surface of electrolyte with introduction of solution of sodium alkyl sulphate directly into feeding pocket of bath together with electrolyte. Method is characterized by that sodium alkyl sulphate with concentration from 0.013 to 0.016 g/dm3 is used in bath with specific consumption from 0.013 to 0.015 dm3/t of commercial cathodes.
EFFECT: reduced concentration of sulfuric acid and copper in air samples above surface of electrolysis bath.
