SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a tire assembly plant. Technical result is achieved by tire assembly installation (1; 100) which comprises forming drum (4) and feeding device (10) for supply of elongated element (3) towards forming drum. Feeder comprises at least one conveyor belt (11; 101) extending in feed direction (X) between loading zone (12), in which elongated member is loaded onto conveyor belt, and unloading zone (13), in which elongated element (3) is unloaded from conveyor belt, motor element (16), which is provided to move conveyor belt between loading zone and unloading zone, control unit (19), which controls loading of elongated element (3) onto conveyor belt (11; 101) and movement of conveyor belt, at least first detection element, which is rigidly connected to first section (20) of conveyor belt, sensor (22), which is rigidly fixed and independent relative to conveyor belt and which is used to detect position of first section (20) in relation to supply device. Control unit (19) controls loading of elongated element onto conveyor belt when first section is located at specified reference distance from loading zone (12).

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of measuring and cutting of elongated element.
