SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a storage compartment and a method of providing additional space in a motor vehicle. Said compartment comprises case, rear flange, cutout, front support assembly and access door. Housing forms inner space for storage and includes upper part, which has cutout forming rear shelf. Rear flange serves to support at least part of object in additional area for storage. Front support assembly comprises a rotary door configured to displace between a first open position and a first closed position. Turning door at displacement in first closed position supports opposite part of object, and when shifted to first open position allows object to fall into inner space for storage. Access door is configured to move between second open position and second closed position and provides or prevents access to inner space for storage.

EFFECT: increased useful volume of storage space in glovebox.
