FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: glove box includes a storage compartment movable between an open position and a closed position and at least one resilient lever projecting from the outer surface of the storage compartment through an opening in the instrument panel. The resilient lever may have the first surface for contacting the edge of the opening and deflecting the resilient lever during storage compartment installation and the second surface to restrict the movement of the already installed storage compartment. Force application to the resilient lever allows the storage compartment to move beyond the open position, allowing the glovebox to be removed from the instrument panel. In the second version, the resilient lever includes a tab formed adjacent to the distal end to receive force.
EFFECT: simplicity and convenience of glove box removal.
