FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oceanological research and is intended for plankton studies by fixation of the analysed volume by pulses of coherent optical radiation. Method of detecting integral dimensional and quantitative characteristics of plankton when moving the analysed volume involves the photoelectric recording of a shadow image of this volume together with particles suspended therein in the form of a photometric signal. Photometric signal undergoes wavelet transformation, the results of which are used to determine integral size-quantitative characteristics of plankton.
EFFECT: faster obtaining of result.
